Meet the dedicated team behind Calistoga Pet Clinic. We see big potential in every moment, & care deeply about what we do every day.
Dr. Steve Franquelin
Dr. Steve Franquelin was born and raised in Napa Valley and received his BS and DVM from UC Davis in 1992. His love and passion for veterinary medicine, his patients, and this community reflects in everything he accomplishes. Dr. Franquelin is devoted to providing the best and most up to date care he can for his patients. His compassion and empathy allow him special aptitude in hospice and end of life care.
He lives in Napa and has three children. Fly-fishing, hiking, scouting, reading, skiing and cooking are a few of his hobbies.
Dr. Susan Degregory
After spending 16 years in the fitness industry, Dr. Degregory sat her husband down and told him she’d decided to make a career change. She began volunteering at Calistoga Pet Clinic with Dr. Franquelin. From there, Dr. Degregory’s journey took her family across the country, with their two kitties in tow, to the University of Tennessee.
Dr. Degregory’s top interests in school were emergency medicine, pathology, and of course, cats, both big and small! She landed an emergency medicine internship in Portland, OR before making her way back to California. Dr. Degregory’s full-time job is as an emergency medicine veterinarian in Rohnert Park, but fortunately for us, she can’t seem to stay away from Calistoga Pet Clinic! Professionally, she values compassion, honesty, and helping owners get the best care for their furry kids.
At home, Dr. Degregory and her husband have two cats: Gypsy, a tortie with an attitude, and Buster, named after the great Buster Posey. Aside from animals, Dr. Degregory’s other passions include naps, board games, reading mysteries, and listening to Dateline podcasts.
